Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective date: October 17, 2026
This policy applies to purchases from Cog & Cell (cogandcell.com), operated by Nik Kitson, sole proprietor doing business as Cog & Cell. It summarizes the refund and cancellation rules in section 5 and section 6 of our Terms of Service; if anything here ever differs from the terms, the terms apply. The only way to contact us is by email: hello@cogandcell.com.
One-off jobs
Quick fix ($49)
Before you pay, we agree a written scope with you. If the delivery doesn't do what that scope says, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we'll fix it at no charge. If we can't make it work, we refund the job in full.
Standard build ($149)
The same rule applies: if the delivery doesn't meet the written scope, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we'll fix it at no charge, or refund it in full if we can't.
Jobs we decline
If we review a request and can't take it on, you won't be charged, or we'll refund you in full if you've already paid.
We promise that the work matches the agreed scope. We don't promise business results such as time saved, revenue or growth, and requests outside the agreed scope aren't grounds for a refund (we'll quote them separately).
Care plan ($49/month) and Ops plan ($149/month)
- You can cancel anytime (see Cancelling a subscription). The plan keeps running until the end of the billing period you've paid for.
- Partial months aren't refunded unless the law requires it.
- First-month refund: if you didn't use any changes in your first month, you can ask for a full refund of that month within 30 days of starting the plan.
- Unused changes don't roll over to the next month and aren't refunded.
What each plan includes is described in the plan scope and section 6 of the terms.
Recipe Club ($12/month) and recipe packs ($19–$29)
Not on sale yet. The Recipe Club and recipe packs aren't available to buy at the moment. Once they are, these terms will apply:
- Recipe Club: cancel anytime; ask within 7 days of your first payment and we'll refund it.
- Recipe packs: if a recipe doesn't work as documented and we can't help you fix it, ask within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.
How to ask for a refund
- Email hello@cogandcell.com with the subject “Refund request”.
- Include the email address you used to order, the date of the order, and a short note on what went wrong. Please don't send card numbers.
- We reply within 2 business days (Monday to Friday, excluding US federal holidays). For one-off jobs we'll usually offer the free fix first, as described above.
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method through Stripe. We don't issue refunds in cash, by check or to a different card. Stripe usually shows the refund on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
Cancelling a subscription
- You can cancel a Care or Ops plan (and the Recipe Club, once available) anytime.
- Cancel through the Stripe customer portal link we send you, or by emailing hello@cogandcell.com from the address on your subscription.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep the plan until then and won't be charged again.
- No partial-month refunds, unless required by law. The first-month refund above still applies.
If we end a plan
We may end a plan by giving you 14 days' notice by email. If we do, we refund any prepaid time after the end date.
Governing law
This policy, like our terms, is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. Nothing in it limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.
